What is Wild Horse
Wild Horse is not Turquoise. There are some merchants passing it off as a special kind of Turquoise. Do Not be fooled! Wild Horse is the name of a type Magnesite with Hematite. As far as we can tell, there is only one source for Wild Horse. Its color is a mixture of brown and white markings and gets its name because it resembles the spots on the wild horses captured and domesticated by the Native Americans.
This stone was discovered near the Globe copper mine in of southern Arizona. We visited this area recently and have made contact with some local stone cutters with this stone. Hopefully we can negotiate some cabochons for some pendants, bracelets and the like in the near future.
