Item 1038 This beautiful sterling silver and Sonora sunset pendant is designed, hand made and hallmarked by Navajo artist, Brugh Tsosie. It measures 3″ from the large bale to the bottom of the pendant and is 1 3/8″ wide.
Brugh has been involved in making Native American jewelry since the tendor age of 8. His father was his mentor and taught him his way…the Tsosie way of designing of making jewelry, a style visually and uniquely influenced by traditional “Dineh” Navajo culture and Mother Earth.
The Sonora sunset stone, also called Sonora sunrise, is made up of green chrysocolla, red Cuprite and black tenorite. The stone is named after Sonora, the state in Northwest Mexico The Milpillas Mine produces this magnificent stone, which is northwest of Cananaea, a city in Sonora. This is a small mine that does not produce much, so the continued availability of this unique and beautiful stone is unknown.
